A video training resource on Equality Impact Assessments (EQIA)
These training sessions are aimed at City Region Deal staff on how to undertake EQIA in their projects.
The training is split into three sections –
- Why – what are the inequalities we are trying to reduce?
- What is the legislation that we need to keep in mind?
- How? – a worked example of EQIA’ing a digital industry project.

Whilst the sessions are Scottish specific and relate to investment decisions, the principles outlined are applicable across the UK and into other sectors.
These sessions were delivered by Chris Oswald during a secondment from EHRC to the Scottish Government. He has worked on equality and human rights issues in Scotland in the voluntary sector, for Health Boards, and in the Commission for Racial Equality & the Disability Rights Commission.
